Wanja Schötteldreier is a PhD researcher at the Instituut voor Landbouw-, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek (ILVO) and the Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). His research focuses on agricultural land ownership and land transfers in Belgium, through studying cadastral parcel data and LPIS-data.

Wanja holds a joint master's degree in Urban Studies from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and VUB, and a bachelor's degree in Human Geography and Urban and Regional Planning from the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA). Through his PhD he wants to explore themes such as the political economy of agriculture, land as a financial asset, and urban-rural relations through Flemish spatial policy.
