Laura Deruytter is interested in how financial markets influence our daily life. Her PhD research examined the financial logics shaping municipally-owned energy and water utilities in Flanders.
Aside from her academic work, Laura likes to engage with policy makers and activists. As a board member of FairFin, she follows debates on how public banks and state-owned assets can be used for progressive redistribution of value and financing of socio-ecological transitions.
