Karoline da Silva Rodrigues is a Ph.D. candidate at HOST, Historical Research into Urban Transformation Processes, at the VUB.
Karoline completed her Master's in History at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). In 2021, she started her doctoral research on urban inequality and labor market segmentation, focusing on the Brussels construction sector from 1695 until 1970. With this study, she aims to understand how inequalities can be explained as a matter of shifting regulation and sectoral organization and how the resulting labor market structure produced or coincides with specific residential geographies.
