Charlotte van Vessem is a doctoral researcher of the urban mobility team of VUB Mobilise. Her PhD-research is focused on inclusive and sustainable mobility with a specific focus on gender.

Trained as a sociologist and political scientist, her main focus has been on social inequalities arising from globalisation processes. In her research she has increasingly focused on analysing gender and mobility and specifically how gender is taken into account and conceptualised in (inter)national policy processes.
