Bob Pierik is Assistant Professor of Early Modern Urban History at the Social History of Capitalism research group at the VUB .
His research focuses on the history of everyday life and urban space. He is interested in historical-geographical practices on the intersection of social and cultural history. Themes of his work are gender, urban space and mobility, vehicles, work, privacy and water. He obtained his PhD from the University of Amsterdam, where he defended a dissertation on the street life of early modern Amsterdam.
