Benjamin Wayens is coordinator of the interdisciplinary network for Brussels Studies (EBxl) at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), and responsible for internships, field trips and academic follow-up of the MSc in Urban Studies within the ULB.

Benjamin is also the moderator (with Joost Vaesen and Serge Jaumain) of the BrOOC, the Brussels Open Online Course, which is part of the first year of the MSc Urban Studies. He is very eclectic in his research on Brussels, but has nonetheless developed in-depth expertise in quantitative urban observation and analysis of the logics of locating activities, particularly for the distribution sector or in terms of educational infrastructures. Benjamin Wayens is also deputy editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Brussels Studies. Holder of the certificate of pedagogical aptitude appropriate for higher education, he has long contributed to the geographical and scientific training of future teachers in Haute Ecole and continue to maintain a real interest in questions of didactics and science popularisation.
