Charlotte is a PhD researcher with a background in History and (Bio-)Archaeology. Her research focuses on the earliest city-dwellers of the Medieval city of Ypres, Flanders. She aims to understand where these people came from geographically, to gain more insight into their socio-economic background and into how they created their first urban environments. She does so by combining historical, cartographic and bio-archaeological approaches.
