Hanne Dewinter is a FWO-funded postdoctoral researcher in the BILD research group who studies participatory arts practices in connection to urban living, cultural policy and education

Hanne Dewinter is postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Educational Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. After completing her PhD on the role of participatory arts practices in relation to urban living (Ugent), she worked as a researcher in three Ghent museums (Museum Dr. Guislain, Erfgoedhuis Zusters van Liefde, Huis van Alijn). There, together with a colleague, she conducted research on the link between cultural heritage and wellbeing. Building on those experiences, she now continues to develop research within arts and cultural education.
