Paul Blondeel is a volunteer researcher at Cosmopolis VUB where he taught urban and spatial planners for many years (the STeR* training). His teaching was strongly inspired by his focus on public urban space and his ethnographic work in vulnerable urban neighbourhoods in Belgium and the Netherlands. He is the author of ‘Onbegonnen werk – hoe stedelijke ervaringskennis in kaart onderzoeken en beter aanwenden’ ( unfinished business - how to map urban experiential knowledge and use it better) at ASP/OWL Press 2023.
Paul has spent more than 30 years researching the structure and articulation of experiential knowledge in disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods, partly at KU Leuven, at the University of Antwerp and at VUB. He previously worked as a community worker and publicist.
