Nearly 25 years ago we started Cosmopolis, at that time with the subtitle “City, Culture & Society”. The agenda was set with a book (De kwaliteit van het verschil - La qualité de la difference) and “Crossing Brussels”, a “city science”- program in neighborhoods during the year 2000, when Brussels was Cultural Capital of Europe. Eric Corijn is zoologist, cultural philosopher, sociologist and author. He is a professor of Urban Studies at the Free University of Brussels, founder of COSMOPOLIS, Centre for Urban Research, co-founder of Brussels Studies Institute and Brussels Academy, Member of the Regional Development Commission of the Brussels Capital Region, member of the jury of Urban Regeneration of Flanders, Head Policy & Research of the Global Parliament of Mayors, Member of the Board of Zinnekeparade and of the Halles de Schaerbeek, author of more than 350 publications.
