Jasmin Baumgartner is a PhD researcher in Sciences at the Department of Geography at VUB. Since November 2022 she is working within the IRP-funded project "Re-building Brussels (1695-2025)" at Cosmopolis and VUB Architectural Engineering. Her research focuses on the spatial embeddedness of circular activities in the construction sector and the socio-economic dynamics involved in setting up circular economy hubs in the metropolitan area of Brussels (1980-current).
Jasmin holds a Research Master degree in Urban Studies (UvA) and has a further background in cultural studies. Her exchange semester at VUB-ULB motivated her Master's thesis, which investigated the influence of institutional differences in the rental markets of Amsterdam and Brussels on non-European student's housing pathways.
