Nicola has a mixed position as researcher at the Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research of the VUB, and at Brussels regional administration for the environment (Bruxelles Environnement - Leefmilieu Brussel)

In both places, he works on questions related to Brussels urban ecologies in their broadest sense: the city and its public space, (im)mobilities, environmental processes, urban planning & design. His latest research focuses on urban greening, citizen science, and environmental justice.
