By reimagining cities as spaces of care and collaboration, they challenge neoliberal paradigms, emphasizing mutual aid and inclusive urban development.
Public space
Public space is a critical site of urban negotiation, where issues of commodification, surveillance, and access intersect with social mobilization and diversity. As spaces of networked urbanisms, they shape collective identities, reflecting broader dynamics of power, inclusion, and civic engagement.
Spatial justice
The theme of spatial justice addresses the equitable distribution of resources, opportunities, and environmental benefits across geographical spaces. Particular attention is paid to the unequal relation between urban centres and peripheral regions, highlighting regional inequality, demographic shifts, and environmental degradation.
Foresighting urban futures
This transversal theme will operate as epistemological and methodological line cutting across the above thematic themes, allowing for reflection on and experimentation with different methodologies and ways of envisioning urban futures.
