Paul Erdkamp studied history at the Universiteit van Nijmegen, where he obtaind his Ph.D. in 1998. Afterwards he became Research Fellow at Leiden University. Currently, he teaches Ancient History at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, specializing in the Roman World and its economic, demographic and military aspects.
