Impact of green and blue spaces on specific morbidity and mortality in Belgium

Patrick Deboosere

Research Interface Demography (ID)

Associations exist between residential proximity to green and/or blue spaces and specific morbidity, perceived health, and all-cause and cause-specific mortality. These associations are partly but not entirely attributable to various underlying environmental characteristics of the residential area and to SE factors. The aim of this project is to evaluate the associations between living in/close to a green/blue area on morbidity and mortality in Belgium, at different stages of life (infancy, childhood and adulthood).
