Jef Vlegels is senior researcher at the Research Unit of Data and Policy of the Research and Development department of the VUB. His research mainly focuses on topics in cultural sociology, quantitative methods for the social sciences and higher education policy. He has published and is involved in projects on cultural participation and consumption, cultural production systems, arts education, methods in social network analysis, impact studies on culture and creativity and studies on higher education policy. He is also appointed as Guest Professor at Antwerp University, where he teaches quantitative methods.
