Spend one or two semesters as an exchange student at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), in one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities!
Erasmus exchange students can follow courses in a wide range of study fields, many of which are related to the transversal domain of urban studies. For a full list of study fields, see the dedicated VUB webpage.
In order to be able to apply for an exchange with the VUB, there needs to be an exchange agreement between your home university and the VUB. Each exchange agreement is limited to a specific study field: for example, a political science student needs to select VUB courses from the course overview of political science and an urban design and spatial planning student needs to select courses from the course overview in urban design and spatial planning. In principle, however, and if the respective exchange coordinators agree, it is possible to also follow courses from outside of your own study field. This option is particularly relevant for students interested in urban studies, since ‘urban’ courses can be found in various study fields offered by the VUB.
The (departments of the) member groups of the Brussels Centre for Urban Studies have set up exchange agreements with a large number of universities in Europe. You can download a complete overview of all current exchange agreements below.
